Why exact age matters more than you'd think
Age eligibility rules are usually stricter than "born in the same year." UK state pension age, US Social Security full retirement age, and most age-restricted licences and contracts are calculated to the exact day, not the calendar year — someone born on 1 March turns a given age on 1 March regardless of when in the year an application is submitted. That's the same day-precise logic this calculator uses, rather than the rougher "current year minus birth year" shortcut people often do by hand, which is wrong for roughly two-thirds of the year (any time before your birthday has passed).
