Equation Guess — A Daily Maths Puzzle
Inspired by Wordle and Nerdle, Equation Guess hides a valid 8-character maths equation — like 23+45=68 — and gives you six tries to find it. Every guess must itself be a true equation; the colour feedback tells you how close you got.
How to Play
- Type any valid 8-character equation using digits,
+ − × ÷, and =
- Green — that character is correct and in the right spot
- Yellow — that character is in the equation, but the wrong spot
- Gray — that character isn't in the equation at all
- Use the clues to narrow down the numbers and operator across your six guesses
Strategy Tips
- Start broad — an opening guess like
12+34=46 tests several different digits and an operator at once
- Watch the operator — since only one of + − × ÷ is correct, ruling operators out early narrows the search fast
- Remember the maths has to work — every guess must be arithmetically true, which itself is a powerful constraint
- Track digit positions, not just which digits appear — a "6" in the wrong place still narrows things down

Does the Daily puzzle change every day? Yes — everyone who plays Daily mode on the same date gets the exact same equation, so you can compare results with friends. Switch to Practice for unlimited random puzzles any time.
Why was my guess rejected? Guesses must be exactly 8 characters and a real, correct equation (like 9×9=81 padded to length, or 15-7=8). Made-up or incorrect maths won't be accepted, just like Nerdle.
Can I use multiplication and division? Yes — all four operators (+, −, ×, ÷) are valid, both in the hidden equation and in your guesses.
